Suddenly a clatter disturbed the mimicing pair. The moppy headed girl arose fastly and glanced quickly around the dim room, searching for the source of the disturbance. Not finding it, she sat back down and collected her few tools, planning to quit to the surface. The curious being grasped her arm and trembled, looking fearful. One word was uttered. "Stone"
Before the moppy headed girl could inquire the meaning of the message her companion swiftly skittered away into the shadows, leaving her in the dimly lit room alone with the clatter. Peering around once more cluelessly, the girl started her long ascent to the upper regions of the clockworks.
After a number of those immeasurable moments passed the girl finally realized what the mimic had meant, for in front of her was a great pile of rock that had somehow dislodged itself and blocked the path up. Weary, she sat down to rest, fading into dreams almost instantly. There she slept endlessly. After a few immeasurable periods she turned to stone, becoming part of her wall from outside.
